Are you ready to witness the sun disappearing behind the moon? Prairie Gardens invites you to experience the awe-inspiring 2024 Eclipse like never before. Nestled amidst the picturesque beauty of our farm, this once-in-a-quarter century cosmic phenomenon promises to be an unforgettable spectacle. The next solar eclipse in Edmonton won’t happen again until January 14 – 2029.

10:00am: GATES OPEN & CHECK-IN 
You will not receive a digital or printed ticket as they are not needed for entry. Your name will be on a list at the registration area in the courtyard area close to the parking area.

10:15am: JOIN the GUIDED TOUR of the GREENHOUSES & ORCHARDS
Explore Alberta’s’ beautiful countryside while touring Prairie Gardens Apple and Cherry Orchards. Learn about what grows here, and how to correctly prune fruit trees, and meet the spring babies – goats and lambs.

Enjoy mocktails and refreshments as the eclipse begins.

The festivities kick off with the melodic strings of John Hewit, whose folksy rhythms will provide a live soundtrack to the celestial dance above. Don your Certified Eclipse Glasses (provided). The Eclipse begins at 11:54 am. It progresses to a 30% eclipse by 12:46pm. You’ll be in awe as the moon slips across the sun, enveloping the farm in a breathtaking dusk. The eclipse ends at 1:39pm, when we will move to the fire-roaster pavilion for appetizers around the fire, the start of the farm-to-plate affair.

2:00pm – 3:30pm: LATE LUNCH IN the GREENHOUSE PAVILION
Connect to the land as you sit down to a farm-to-plate lunch featuring edible spring blossoms, herbs and greens. The mains include Alberta beef, prairie farm potato, roasted roots. For dessert, enjoy a slice of our famous homemade pie with homemade whipped cream.
