Altaiskaya produces large berries with an excellent sweet flavour. The large yields combined with relatively few thorns makes this a good variety for harvesting by hand. It can be used for preserves and baking, and is a good option for juice due to the large fruit. Great for cooking with, baking, making wine, juice, and tea! As an added bonus, it only grows 5-7′ tall by wide!

Sea Buckthorn have nodules on their roots which help fix nitrogen into the ground, and are a common plant in permaculture orchards for this natural ‘fertilizer’ effect on plants in its vicinity.

Requires a male Sea Buckthorn for cross-pollination.
