The currants that form are medium to large sized, juicy and flavourful, and can be eaten fresh off of the plant, or processed.
This plant is self-fertile and resistant to powder mildew. Does well in neutral clay soil, and needs to moist but well-drained soil. Grows up to 3-5 ft tall and has a spread of 3-5 ft. It may take up to 4-5 years to become well-established, but once established the Currants will be plentiful and vigorous.
