Native to western and central North America. Narrow, evergreen, lance like silver-grey, aromatic foliage, accents inflorescence panicles of yellow disc-shaped blooms along stems in late summer. Gnarled growing habit. Tolerates rocky soils, drought and flooding. Medicinal properties.

Requires a hot and dry location with full sun, similar to Drumheller and the Badlands to thrive.
