Wild strawberries grow naturally in the prairies, foothills, and Rocky Mountains. They prefer moist, well-drained soil and sunny areas. The plants themeselves are very hardy (zone 2) and do well in tough-to-thrive areas, such as under spruce or pine. They spread by runners. Fruit is small, but super sweet. Red at maturity. June-bearing.
