The Honeywood Saskatoon is a large shrub that is known for its edible berries, but it does also have ornamental qualities. The berries that are produced are ready for picking in early Summer. There are abundant crops of large royal blue colored round berries, and have a sweet taste. The berries are best eaten fresh, cooked, or preserved. The shrub is blanketed in clusters of white flowers, with dark green foliage that will turn yellow in the Fall, and is an extremely versatile shrub for hedges, screening, or as part of your edible landscape.
