Prunus ‘Green Elf’

As if it’s adorable name wasn’t enough, the Green Elf Cherry Plum produces delicious green plums that are firm, free stone, and pleasantly sweet. Best suited for fresh eating and canning. It’s also rated zone 2, which is ideal for the prairies. Green Elf is also suited for smaller spaces or urban areas as it is quite compact, growing only 8′ x 8′. Originates from the Honeywood Heritage Nursery in Parkside, Saskatchewan.  Ripens in middle of August and keeps well after harvesting.

Needs another plum for cross-pollination. Canadian or American plum recommended.
