Viburnum cass. ‘SMNVCDD’ PP27549
Pot size #2, #5
A hardy, tiny viburnum shrub that forms large clusters of fragrant blooms that are creamy-white in color, in late Spring, maturing to berries that go through a number of different colors: green, to pink, then red, and lastly a blackish-blue that will persist over the Winter. The foliage is a glossy green color. Great to use as a border plant, landscaping, mass planting, or as a focal point.
The top reasons to grow Lil’ Ditty is that it is one of the only dwarf viburnums, it has prolific white blooms, native to North America, flowers that are fragrant, interest in the Fall, and interest in the Winter.
This will be lovely as a focal point in your garden with a height of 18 – 24 inches, and a spread of 18 – 24 inches. The Lil’ Ditty prefers moist, well-drained soils but will tolerate wet soil. It does not fare well in hot, dry conditions. The nice thing about this bush is that it needs little pruning. Requires another Lil’ Ditty to produce fruit.
