Save the Harvest

Frost is right around the corner and we need help getting the harvest done! Normally we rely on u-pick to harvest the majority of our vegetables and fruits, particularly our potatoes and pumpkins. However, because of the restrictions put in place by Sturgeon County, we are not allowed to offer u-pick and cannot even have a farm market onsite to sell our produce.

If you’re interested in helping with the harvest, please fill out the form below. Individuals, partners, and families are welcome to volunteer – we need all the help we can get! There will be pumpkin harvest teams and potato harvest teams (though you can help with both if you like). Keep in mind that digging potatoes is low work – you’ll either be on your hands and knees or bending over lots. Likewise, though there are a range of sizes of pumpkins, most are between 7-20 pounds, so be prepared to build some muscle!

We are happy to send volunteers home with vegetables and pumpkins as thanks for the time volunteered to help us harvest our crops.

Please give us a call (780-921-2272) or send us an email (info@prairiegardens.org) if you have any questions.
