Recipient of the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Also known as the Hardy Geranium or the Cranesbill. Named after the brightest constellation in the sky ‘Orion’. This particular selection produces vibrant purplish-blue flowers, with darker violet veining, small white eye, large sized, and has a long blooming time from June to August. Noted for its depth of color, size of bloom and length of blooming season. The blossoms are held on slender stems high above the foliage of deeply lobed green basal leave. Perfect to use in your perennial border and perfect groundcover under lightly shaded trees and shrubs. Will grow up to 24-30 inches, and with a spread of 24-36 inches.

A hybrid cross between the ‘Brookside’ and the Geranium ‘Gravetye’. It will form a vigorous clump, and may need some support until it can start to support itself. Blooms usually appear in late spring and last for about two months.

Performs best in moderately fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. It will tolerate periods of drought once established. Requires very little maintenance is generally not subject to serious pest or disease issues. Remove flowered stems and old leaves to encourage the production of fresh leaves and flowers.
