A perennial that is award-winning. It grows in a compact and rounded flower clusters. Also known as the flowering onion. The flowers that grow are a bright rosy purple color, and appear on strong stems just about glossy green foliage. The Millenium Allium has fragrant flowers and fragrant foliage. It is a long blooming perennial and is drought tolerant. This plant will attract bees and butterflies, and is resistant to deer and rabbits. The blooms are bold balls of lilac-purple rounded clusters and flower in mid-summer. Great to use as a cut flower, or even to be planted in a container combination.

The Millenium Ornamental Onion will grow to be about 12 inches tall, with a spread of 15 inches. It grows at a medium rate, though it tends to go dormant during late Summer. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but does not tolerate standing water. If is not particular as to soil type or pH.
