Duties & Responsibilites

• Maintaining presentable and tidy tour stations (i.e. Petting Farm, Planting Station, Gardens, Playgrounds, Puppet Show, etc.)
• Driving a tractor (driver's license required)
• Taking Care of Farm Animals, including providing food and water
• Cleaning Animal Enclosures
• Rotating daily chores: filling handwashing stations, taking out garbage, cleaning bathrooms, preparing cookie snack, cleaning picnic tables, etc.
• Other farm duties as required, after tours

Qualifications

• The ability to work with groups and a diverse range of visitors (teachers, parents, children, families, etc.)
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to take responsibility and work with a minimum of supervision.
• The ability to work within a team.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement conditions including but not limited to; high heat, sun exposure rain, snow and cold temperatures.

Wage Rate: $15-17/hr

Duties & Responsibilites

Customer Service and Sales:

• Providing planting and care advice to customers based on our warranty and best practice
• Providing information and recommendations on fruit tree and shrub varieties
• Assisting customers with transportation of trees to their vehicles (and help loading their vehicles)

Garden Center Maintenance, Restocking and Merchandising:

• Weeding, pruning, watering of plants.
• Restocking and organizing trees/shrubs/perennials/annuals in sales areas and greenhouses.
• Maintaining a presentable and tidy sales, greenhouse & store areas.
• Planting bare root perennials; transplanting container trees and shrubs
• Signage, pricing, and tagging.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of horticulture applicable to Alberta; specifically knowledge regarding hardy fruit trees and shrubs. This is an asset but not required.
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to take responsibility and work with a minimum of supervision.
• Able to lift 50lbs unassisted (repeatedly) and >50lbs with assistance.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement conditions including but not limited to; high heat, sun exposure rain, snow and cold temperatures.
• Mindful of personal appearance and attire.

Wage Rate: $15-17/hr.

Higher wages ($17.50-$19.50/hr) considered for candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in horticulture

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operation of equipment like tractors, transplanters, etc.
• Sanitary control of fields and greenhouses: weeding, cultivating, etc.
• Irrigation & Watering
• Seeding and transplanting of annual vegetable crops such as pumpkins, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, carrots, beets, tomatoes, peppers, etc.
• Transplanting of perennial fruiting crops such as strawberries and raspberries.
• Maintenance of u-pick fields
• Shipping and receiving
• Numerous other activities related to farm and greenhouse operations

Qualifications

• The ability to take responsibility and work with a minimum of supervision, while still being able to work in a team
• Able to lift 50lbs unassisted (repeatedly) and >50lbs with assistance.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement conditions including but not limited to; high heat, sun exposure rain, snow and cold temperatures.
• Mindful of personal appearance and attire.

Wage Rate: $15-17/hr.

Higher wages ($17.50-$25/hr) considered for experience with irrigation systems, farming, mechanical expertise, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service and Sales:

• Answering the phone and taking messages
• Answering emails
• Creating invoices for customers
• Taking payment for invoices, reservations, etc.
• Managing reservations for workshops, events, etc.

Administrative Duties:

• Checking and updating tree and shrub inventory
• Manage onboarding for seasonal employees, including documentation and setup.
• Process monthly payroll submissions through Dayforce.
• Maintain employee files and support general HR administration.
• Assist with scheduling, timesheet collection, and seasonal staffing updates.
• Provide general office support including filing, data entry, and record keeping.
• Support the leadership team with administrative tasks during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in payroll or office administration.
• Experience with Dayforce or similar payroll systems is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with customers.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage seasonal workflow changes.
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative, women-led agritourism environment.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Ideal for a semiretired or newly retired administrator seeking flexible, meaningful work, while being able to enjoy winter holidays.

Wage Rate: $17-22/hr. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operation of equipment like tractors, farm vehicles, transplanters, etc.
• Maintenance of equipment like tractors, weed whackers, lawn mowers, transplanters, wagons, etc.
• Maintenance of safety on the property (walkways, stairs, playground equipment, etc. )
• Maintenance of clean and orderly tool and equipment areas
• Coordination with field teams for planting, irrigation, and harvest
• Numerous other activities related to farm and greenhouse operations

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge and ability to fix straightforward mechanical issues
• Rudimentary carpentry and/or woodworking knowledge
• Rudimentary plumbing or irrigation knowledge - fixing leaks, hoses, etc.
• The ability to take responsibility and work with a minimum of supervision, while being able to coordinate with other employees and teams.
• Ability to work for a women-led organization
