The ornamental fruit will split open in the Fall to reveal a red seed that is surrounded by an orange skin. While the green foliage become a vibrant yellow in the Fall. The berries are widely used in the floral industry. There are also spherical berries that are green colored and ripen to a yellow shade in the Fall.
Prefers a moist, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant and requires a support structure. Best used in screening.
