Designed especially for beginners, this immersive 2.5-hour experience invites you to slow down, sharpen your observation skills and develop the confidence to recognize common edible plants in their natural environment. Join us for a guided journey through the Pahonin National Healing Forest and take your first steps into the fascinating world of wild food.
Guided by an experienced instructor, you’ll learn the foundations of ethical foraging, respectful harvesting and sustainable practices while exploring forest trails, cultivated gardens and Prairie Gardens’ U-Pick fields. Along the way, you’ll discover how wild and cultivated foods are deeply connected and gain an appreciation for the landscapes that nourish us.

Seasonal Foraged-Inspired Lunch
Following your walk, gather around the table to enjoy a light seasonal lunch inspired by the plants explored during the experience.
Your meal includes: stinging nettle soup, dandelion and garden green salad with wild honey vinaigrette, fresh farm sourdough, dessert made with fresh berries and fruit. Enjoyed with a wild raspberry and mint tea.
