In the Fall the blooms give way to ornamental large red rose hips, which will attract birds and butterflies. Aside from its beautiful roses it also makes an excellent hedge.
It will grow to be about 6 ft in maturity, with a spread of 6 ft. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. Once established will be drought tolerant. Tolerant of a range of different soils. Do not remove the flowers if you want to enjoy the orange-red hips through the Fall and Winter.
