What the heck is a Chilean Guava plant and why would I want to grow one?
Chilean Guava is an edible fruit that is native to Chile. Amazingly it was a favourite of Queen Victoria, though its not widely grown in the UK. Its fruit is the stuff of legends – with a small and flavour of strawberry-kiwi cotton candy with a hint of vanilla spice. Not to mention its creamy texture. Once you’ve had one, you’ll never have enough! Its superb flavour means Chilean Guavas are typically eaten fresh, though you can also make jams, muffins, puddings, and liqueur with the fruit.
As Chilean Guavas are a small bush they’re ideal for container-growing indoors.
