Developed in Nova Scotia, the Balsor Hardy Blackberry is one of the hardiest varieties for our area. Fruit is large, sweet, juicy and absolutely impossible to resist! Also suited for baking with. This variety produces fruit in the second year (floricane) and is ready to harvest in late August.
As with all blackberries grown in the prairies, you should plan on some extra protection for your Balsor Hardy Blackberry. Lay canes down beneath the snowline and cover the with wood chips. Plant in a protected location (ideally the south side of a building for example).
