This is by far one of the best purple lilacs available today. Great to use as a hedge, screen, or mass plant. There are panicles in a conical shape, dark purple in color and will open Mid-Spring. Largest Lilac blooms. Large, single, deep violet florets among heart-shaped bluish-green foliage. In comparison to the common lilac there are fewer suckers.
Prefers soil that is moist and well-drained. Great to use as fresh flowers or dried. Gets to a height of 10-12 ft and a spread of 10 ft. A variety of a species not originally from North America. Note that this is a high maintenance shrub and will require regular upkeep.
