Almost forgotten, Morden Russet is an apple worth preserving. Its fruit is firm, yellow-fleshed, and extremely flavourful. Excellent for fresh eating, and even more excellent for making cider, this apple ripens in late September and will keep up to 3 months in cold storage. One of the few russted apples that is hardy in Alberta.
Originally released by Morden Research Station in 1935.
