Rubus moluccanus ‘Hardy Black’
Pot size: #1
A new variety for us in 2026, Hardy Black is a worthwhile blackberry to try in Alberta’s growing climate. Canes are thorny and require pruning on an annual basis as this is a floricane variety. Canes should be laid or pressed down in the fall and buried – either with wood mulch or an insulated tarp. Fruit is firm with a sweet flavour. Best suited for fresh eating.
Mature size: 5-6′ tall 3-5′ wide.
