Beedle pears produce fruit of medium size, which ripens on the tree. Ready in early September and a reliable producer most years. This pear is ideal for eating since sweet, soft and juicy, it’s also a relatively good keeping pear, when compared to varieties like Ure and Early Gold. To boot – there’s no astringency, which is a nice bonus. Rated for zone 2, the Beedle pear is extremely hardy and is suited for growing in most regions of Alberta.
