Pineberries are known for their spectacularly striking colour – or, really, lack thereof. That’s right pineberries are completely white, with the exception of their seeds, which redden as they mature. Pineberries earned their name for their pineapple-like flavour. Get it? Put pineapple and strawberry together and you get pineberry! Though extremely tasty, pineberries are less productive than traditional strawberries, so treasure the fruit you’re able to enjoy. Pineberries can be grown with raspyberries for improved yield (cross-pollination). They are june-bearing.
