This is one of the earliest blooming Mayday trees. It has a columnar to round growth habit. Known for being vigorous in growth and cold-hardy. In early spring, a mass of fragrant, long clusters of small white blooms, and black colored ornamental fruit. The bark is a grey colored bark with yellow and red fall foliage. This tree is an excellent shade trade that offers excellent, scented flowers. They are very hardy, though they are not susceptible to black knot disease.
Tolerates poor soils. It is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 33 ft. The Mayday tree is a species of cherry, native to northern Europe and northern Asia.
