An early maturing pear tree that is great for eating and making into preserves. This tree forms large and showy flowers that are formed in the Spring, and is followed by golden pears. The pears have a sweet taste and a crisp texture. The pears have an oblong shape, golden skin, and white flesh. The fruit is ready to pick in early Fall.
It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America.
It needs another pear variety as a pollinator to set fruit. Recommended varieties: Early Gold, Summercrisp, Paul’s, Southworth, Zarechnaya, Chizhovsky, Larinskaya, Golden Spice, Prairie Welcome, and Loving.
