Fire Roasters Cooking Class at Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm

We have been cooking in our wood fired cob oven at the farm for the past two summers – and we’ve loved it from the very moment we lit our first fire – but there was a learning curve!
Now that we’ve mastered it – there will be one class a month from 11am-3pm, from July – December (Skips October) to choose a date to sign up for! This class will be a sociable, fun and a very hands-on learning experience.
We cook a lot of different dishes during the day (both over the campfires and in the wood-fired oven) and naturally we have to try them all. Each course is limited to 10 places.
Lunch (lots of it) included. It’s an experience to cook with wood!
Pizza making – dough, shaping, topping and baking
Veggies from the Garden – Salads Arugula and blackened tomatoes, charred beans or Cauldron on Coals cooked wheat berry risotto, charred greens, braised leeks and Brussels sprouts, roasted herbs, quick pickles & dips.
Breads – Herbed Bannock cooked on a stick over the fire
Pastry – Spiced apple Empanadas and Galettes
